Accrington Wildcats will be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting on Thursday April 3rd at 7pm, at Enfield Cricket Club and via Teams to make some changes to our current Club Constitution. The current Constitution is available to view at accringtonwildcats.co.uk, under the information tab. A summary of the proposed changes are below:

Section 5) Officers of the Club & the Club Committee
Addition of wording ‘The Executive Committee should, where possible, comprise affiliation to different teams within the Club’

Addition of wording ‘The Committee and all team staff, coaches and membership have a duty to abide by all policies set by the Club, including but not limited to, internal policies, policies set out by the National Governing Body and policies of any affiliated competitions. It is the responsibility of the Committee to ensure all policies are available for review.’

Section 6) Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Changing the month of the AGM from January to December

Removal of the paragraph ‘For voting purposes at Annual General Meetings, a quorum will exist if a minimum of 50% of the club membership is in attendance. This must include at least 50% of the officers.’

Section 7) Special Meeting/Extraordinary General Meetings (EGM)
Removal of the paragraph ‘For voting purposes at Extraordinary General Meetings, a quorum will exist if a minimum of 25% of the club membership is in attendance.’

Section 8) Voting
Removal of the paragraph ‘At an AGM or EGM a quorum will be deemed to exist if a minimum of 25% of the total membership are present.’

Addition of the wording ‘To be considered as eligible to vote, members must be up to date with their subs payments. Members will be considered eligible to vote if attending via an online live meeting platform. Postal votes and/or proxy votes will not be accepted.’

Addition of the wording ‘with the exception of carrying a parent member vote.’

Addition of the paragraph ‘At an AGM or EGM a quorum will be deemed to exist if:
i. At least 50% of the Clubs Officers are in attendance AND
ii. At least 1 member of each teams staff is in attendance AND
iii. At least 1 parent member from each team is in attendance.
Categories ii. and iii. must be fulfilled by 2 separate people.’
Some changes to punctuation within the document, without any alteration to the wording of the Constitution.

Any further proposed changes to the constitution, or any items to be included for voting on unrelated to proposed changes to the constitution, should be forwarded to Rachel Campbell, Club Secretary at secretary@accringtonwildcats.co.uk no later than Monday 24th March 2025.
