Match Summary

A strong all-round performance from the Wildcats saw them come away with a deserved 26–6 victory over Cadishead.

The scoring got underway early with Ash O’Rourke crossing for the opening try, converted by Connor to make it 6–0. The Wildcats kept the pressure on and soon added another through CJ, with Connor again adding the extras for 12–0.

Dan S powered over for the third try of the afternoon. The conversion drifted wide, but the Wildcats were firmly in control at 16–0.

Cadishead responded with a converted try of their own to cut the score to 16–6, but the Wildcats answered straight back. Ash O’Rourke grabbed his second of the game, with the conversion just missed, extending the lead to 20–6.

The final score came through Luke Adamson, who broke through to touch down, with Connor landing another conversion to seal the game at 26–6.

Standout Performances

There were some standout performances across the park:

  • Owen Schofield made some excellent runs and carried strongly throughout.

  • Ollie Rushton (Debut) – A special mention to Ollie on his debut at open age—he split the defence brilliantly and put in some huge tackles all game.

  • Ashton came up with some crucial try-saving tackles when needed.

  • Ash O’Rourke – Great to see Ash back in a Wildcats shirt for his first game in 10 years—and marking it with two tries.

  • Luke Adamson caused problems every time he got the ball, breaking the line on several occasions… even if one of them ended with him falling over his own feet!
