Accrington Wildcats Under 9s Match Report
The sun was shining at the Wilsons Sports Village on Sunday as the Accrington Wildcats Under 9s started phase 2 of their festival-type games. They welcomed Orrell St James, Folly Lane, and Shevington Sharks for a fantastic day of junior rugby league.
The Wildcats split into two teams and competed in six games between them. The Wildcats were tested throughout the morning, facing some excellent talent from the opposition, but they showed their grit and determination throughout the day, showcasing great teamwork and plenty of energy in every game. All the players worked tirelessly and should be proud of how hard they tried from start to finish.
A special mention goes to Seb, who crossed the line for the Wildcats’ tries with some excellent attacking, including a fantastic try-saving tackle right on the line.
Award Winners
- Coaches’ Player of the Match: Awarded to Dexter and Henry. The coaches were delighted with the commitment and attitude shown by both players throughout the games.
- Magic Moment: Came from Mason, who produced a strong shoulder tackle to stop a player twice his size — and then did it again moments later, showing incredible bravery and determination.
- Supporters’ Players of the Day: Went to Musa and Seb, who both showed outstanding effort and commitment throughout every match.
Well done to all the Wildcats U9s for a superb day of rugby and great sportsmanship all round!
